As a young adult my grandma was my role model. I remember the day that she told me this quote like it was yesterday.  Now thinking back on that day, 20 plus years later, I can honestly say I know the true meaning behind this quote.

 

Being a Hair Stylist isnt  just any other job and it isnt just a passion- it's a Love. It's one of my loves. Each client that sits in my chair is a new canvas for me to showcase my love for the art of hair through color, cut and style.  I take pride in each service I perform and give extra care and detail  to my clients needs. 

 

I am originally from Schaumburg, Illinois and moved to Austin, Texas 13  years ago. I graduated from Avenue Five Institute with training and techniques in haircutting  from Vidal Sassoon  and in Color from Wella.  I was a part of Jco Salon's Family for 2 years. certified & trained as a Paul Mitchell specialist  and was  a cut and color Master stylist at Joel Ray Salon. Currently owner and Master stylist  at Hair By Meli at Phenix Salon suites.  I specialize in Womens Color and Cut along with Special Event Hair.

  When I am not at the salon I like to spend time catching up on my favorite sports teams: Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs, and Iowa Hawkeyes. Another passion of mine is Wine and Food pairing.  I also enjoy watching live music at different venues in Austin.
